In Memory of my Gardening Mother

Last weekend saw another successful Dollar Open Gardens weekend – the rain stayed off until the end of visiting hours on Sunday and there was a steady stream of appreciative gardeners passing through the 20+ gardens that were open.  The final figures raised are still be be confirmed but a goodly number of thousands of pounds will have been raised for Strathcarron Hospice. My lovely Mum, Barbara, who died at the start of August last year, was so looking forward to opening her new garden in Dollar as part of the event (which only happens every 3 years), so, in her memory, here are some photos (from end May/early June 2013) to show what her garden was like at the Open Gardens time of year:

Before I sold her house, I had a bit of garden raid, and now some of her favourite plants live on in my garden, like this super pale blue iris which started to flower in my front garden yesterday. It’s a real beauty 🙂
