Garden Designer as Charity Trustee

Over the past three months I have been busier than usual during the ‘silly season’ for garden professionals.  At the end of January my family were delighted to hear that our new venture had been awarded Scottish charity status. The Uphill Trust was established to support the development of a small primary school/kindergarten in rural western Uganda. How we became involved in Uphill Junior School in the first place is a story in itself and, if you are interested, you can read my husband’s account of this here. Anyway, just as we received the good news, we packed our bags and, along with two other ladies from The Uphill Trust, set off on a whirlwind week in western Uganda which entailed lots of time in a hot 4WD, two days on safari and two days visiting Uphill Junior School.
