- clients requested design advice for their predominantly grassed garden surrounding a large modern estate house
- new garden layout required to integrate house into garden, to create new seating areas, paths & patios, to provide a functional link to existing summerhouse & to upgrade the planting
- existing boundary tree & shrub borders extended into sweeping curves to draw the eye around the garden & encourage exploration
- new borders & gravel access paths created around the house
- patio at the rear of the house extended & sweeping pathway installed to link with summerhouse & deck
- new access created at rear of house, leading to circular seating area & pergola
- area of existing white-stemmed birch trees extended & under-planted with spring bulbs
- planting to completed in two phases – additional trees & shrubs planted in Autumn 2009; herbaceous perennials & large structural grasses planned for Spring 2010
