Belinda Macdonald, the Garden Designer, has an HNC in Garden Design which has formalised a lifetime of amateur horticultural interest.  She was awarded the Scottish Agricultural College prize for the best HNC student in Garden Design in 2007.  

Belinda initially trained as a biomedical scientist and holds both an Honours degree and a PhD in this field.  She is a firm advocate of lifelong learning and engages in an active programme of continued professional development to keep abreast of new skills and techniques which can be translated into her clients’ gardens and planting schemes. Listening, communication skills and unending professionalism are key to her strong relationships with clients.

She held the post of Co-ordinator for the Central Cluster Group of the Society of Garden Designers from 2012-2016.

Memberships: Pre-registered Member of the Society of Garden Designers; Royal Horticultural Society; Scottish National Trust

Belinda is also Trustee/Administrator of The Uphill Trust (SC045385), a family-run charity supporting the development of a small rural primary school in Western Uganda. See www.uphilltrust.uk for more information.

When she is not working, in her own garden, or fundraising, Belinda dons her Gi and heads along to her local karate dojo where she trains 3 times a week to develop her black belt skills. In the summer months, she might arrive to see you on her cheerfull, yellow Royal Enfield motorcycle…
